The issue of Black Money has been always in the minds of the Indians, ever so more, during the General Elections 2014, when the Incumbent Party, the Indian National Congress Party, had seen its rout from power, due to several reasons, stagnant growth, lack of foreign investments, woman safety issues etc., the most important of them all, were the huge number of scams, that had took place in the last 10 years.
The people were losing patience on all fronts, the current Govt. of India, formed by the BJP party, had won by huge margins, owing to a Popular Mr. Modi and so called Modi Wave.
Mr. Modi and his party promised that they would successfully recover the black money stored abroad. It was one of the party propaganda. Regardless of whether the Indian govt. is successful in recovering the black money, the ever burning question, how much black money is there?
According to different international organizations like World Bank & IMF, also estimates from Indian Govt. agencies, it ranges from wildly from 1.4 trillion USD to 2 Billion USD. Only one particular country is targeted here, is Switzerland, as a major country which has Indian and other countries black money .
However, both are unlikely, the closest we can get is maybe around 500 billion USD. But do remember, the actual amount is still unknown.
